New Members

Ski Season

Our Ski season runs from the start of September to the end of August.
 

The best time for new members to join is at the start of Ski Season meetings. (September/October).

To Become a New Member you will need the following during signup.
 
  • Boat Registration
  • Trailer Registration
  • Liability Insurance (minimum $10,000,000)
  • Membership fee
  • Copy of licences for Boat Drivers
Once you have completed the online application you will need to attend a club meeting to obtain a copy of the club rules, boat sticker and key. You will be briefed on the use of club facilities and activities that you can be involved with. Meetings are held at the Highfields Tavern, starting at 7pm on the first Wednesday of each month (except January).

Fees

To join the club it costs $565 which includes the first years membership fee.

 

Ongoing membership is $275 per year.

 

The fees go towards the running costs of the dam and to update the community ski gear.

Club Rules

Once you are a member you will have access to the dam any time of the year.  All new members are given a key and a rule book which must be adhered to.

We have rules in place to ensure the safety of all members and the facilities are looked after.  

 

Each Member must attend 3 meetings per year (members can send a friend or family member as a proxy if they are unable to attend).  

 

If members have not attended 3 meetings by the time of the renewal meetings they will have to re-pay their new member fee.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Members boats must comply with the following specifications:

1. Must be designated as either a ski or wake boat with total length between 4m and 7.3m

2. Must have engine power greater than 100HP

3. Must have forward controls and a rear facing observers seat

4. Driver and passengers must have 50% of body mass below level of gunnel when seated

5. PWC, jet skis and jet-propelled boats are ineligible

6. No over the transom exhaust pipes

 

Who can take my boat on the dam?

  • You/and or your partner
  • Your children provided they have a current QLD boat License
  • No one ELSE

The club has a range of gear that can be used by any member at any time as long as it is returned at the end of the day. Some of the gear that can be used includes:

  • Ski’s
  • Air Chair
  • Knee boards
  • Wakeboard Jump
  • Slalom course

The club also has a variety of facilities that are open to all members to use. These include;

  • Boat Ramp
  • BBQ
  • Picnic area

The club has members days to help bring together the club. These days include working bees, fun days and demo days to showcase boats and watersports equipment.
